KGVI winner’s future
NZPA London The four owners of brilliant lie de Bourbon are mt-king determined efforts to keep the winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes and Coronation Cup in England when his racing days are over.
“We are most anxious that He de Bourbon should remain in England. Already we have had inquiries from the U.S.A, and Ireland,” the partners say. “Should we receive sufficient evidence that a syndicate could be formed by the British Bloodstock Agency to purchase the horse at what we consider a fair price before he comes out of training later this year, then He de Bourbon would be retired to stand in England. “If the response is favourable, we would retain not less than 25 per cent of the syndicate shares. The stud where he would stand would also be expected to take up at least one share.” He de Bourbon, which is expected to run next in the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park on July 7 before bidding for a repeat win in Ascot’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes three weeks later, has become one of the most valuable horses in Europe.
