Mountain Haze starting
Special correspondent Auckland Mountain Haze will run in the First Foal Stakes at Alexandra Park tonight. His trainer, M. J. Miller, had been undecided on Thursday whether to run him. The gelding had been slightly off his feed. “But things are back to normal,” Miller said yesterday. “He ate up well today and he will start all right.” Mountain Haze’s absence .from the stakes field • would have robbed the race of considerable interest. He has had three wins and a second from five attempts, stamping himself as one of the best two-year-olds in New Zealand. A gelding by Spike Darling from Kellyville. Mountain Haze is owned by Miller and his wife. The Takanini trainer, J. E. Smith, does the race driving.
