Young Quinn on way home

PA Invercargill Young Quinn, the winner of more than $750,000 and the holder of a Imin 55sec mile record, is on his way home after a spectacular racing career in North America. Young Quinn is undergoing quarantine in England and is due to be flown out of London on July 11 and will land in Auckland a couple of days later. The Young Charles gelding will then complete a further five or six days quarantine at Trentham.

Young Quinn’s part owner, Mr Des Baynes of Edendale said the possibility of Young Quinn racing again in New Zealand could not be entirely ruled out. After his quarantine period at Trentham he will be sent north to Charlie Hunter. If the check ligament of a rear leg recovers sufficiently, there is a chance Hunter will try him with a view to being prepared for the Auckland Cup.
