Change of quarters for 3 stallions
The stallions, King’s Row, Bolton Byrd, and Last Edition, have had a change of quarters for the coming breeding season. King’s Row, a son of Johnny Globe, will return to his Yaldhurst owner, Ron Kerr, after being located at Westbrook Stud, Annat. He has been well supported in the past two years. King’s Row covered a few mares in his fint season and one of them, Crown Title, has shown fine form in Western Australia. Last Edition has been sold by the West Melton studmaster, Jim Dalgety, to a syndicate headed by Barry Mattison, who will stand him in the Maitland district of New South Wales in 1980. In the meantime he will do one season at Car] Middleton’s Miiburn Farm, Highbank. The son of Bye Bye Byrd did a big season at Lantana Lodge this season and he is well booked for next season. Last Edition did two sea-
sons in Australia before coming on to New Zealand and he has rising two-year-olds, several of which are held in high regard. The Auckland Cup winner, Bolton Byrd, which did limited stud duty in Canterbury during his racing career, has been leased to the Waitara owner-trainer, Neil Buchanan, who raced the fine mare, Scottish Charm.
The departure of Bolton Byrd and Last Edition leaves only Out to Win at Lantana Lodge. He is certain to be fully booked again in 197980.
