Custody refused
PA Auckland A self-employed property developer charged with importing heroin into New Zealand at Karamea, Nelson, appeared yesterday in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland. Mr H. Y. Gilliand, S.M., remanded Brian James Curtis, aged 45, of Glen Eden, in custody to June 1. The Magistrate said that a date for a depositions hearing had been set for June 19, but the defendant, as he was entitled to do, had refused to b remanded in custody for longer than a week.
