New band official
The first paid officer of the New Zealand Brass Bands Association (Mr J. Harrison) will be based in Christchurch. Mr Harrison will take up his appointment this week. As the association’s executive officer, he will look after the affairs of brass bands throughout New Zealand, including the National Youth Band and the National Band of New Zealand. The 45 members of the National Youth Band, who are all under 19, will tour Queensland and New South Wales for three weeks, in August.
