Knox), who was secretary until elected president at the annual conference last week, said that after the closing of nominations, a postal ballot would be held, clos-

ing at 5 p.m. on June 18. Prospective candidates had to be members of affiliated unions of the F.O.L. and the affiliate had to be a paid-up member, he said.

The secretary of the Wellington Trades Council (Mr K. Douglas) who is a member of the Socialist Unity Party, has already announced that he will be a candidate for the post.
