F.O.L. post open
Nominations are being called today for the post of secretary of the Federation of Labour and will close at 5 p.m. on May 28. The new president of the F.O.L. (Mr W. J. Knox), who was secretary until elected president at the annual conference last week, said that after the closing of nominations, a postal ballot would be held, clos-
ing at 5 p.m. on June 18. Prospective candidates had to be members of affiliated unions of the F.O.L. and the affiliate had to be a paid-up member, he said.
The secretary of the Wellington Trades Council (Mr K. Douglas) who is a member of the Socialist Unity Party, has already announced that he will be a candidate for the post.
