Miller’s factory sold
The Aranui factory of Miller’s Ltd, has been bought by Ddnaghys Industries, Ltd.
The 8300 sq m factory has been vacant for about two years. Donaghy’s general manager, Mr'D. R. Stewart, of Dunedin, said yesterday that his company’s textile manufacturing work would be moved from the present Christchurch site in Sturrocks Road, Redwood, to the Aranui factory later this year. Synthetic cloth and bags are made by Donaghy’s subsidiary companies, Nixon Industries and Polypropylene Products, at the Redwood site, and the same products will be made at the Pages Road factory, although the facilities there will give the companies more room for expansion. ’ Donaghy’s twine-manufac-turing premises at Waikuku will not be affected by the Christchurch move, as it is “completely separate,” according to Mr Stewart.
