Temuka main bursts
TIMARU REPORTER Temuka has a temporary water crisis because of a burst main between the town and its reservoir, 13 miles away at Orari. The Town Clerk (Mr G. S. Broker) told the monthly meeting of the Temuka Borough Council that the water must be turned off today during repairs, and that there would be only an
emergency low-pressure supply. Residents have been asked to conserve water. On the suggestion of Cr K. J. Tarrant, the council will ask its engineers to investigate providing a permanent emergency supply for Temuka from a well between Orari and ..Winchester which supplied Temuka in earlier years.
