“Pornographic" literature

Sir, —Your correspondent Paul Maling (December 13) leaves me a little confused. He says something is the opposite of integrity. Integrity means complete, balanced, whole or uncorrupted. Man was created to act and live as the image of God. Corruptive practices such as pornography make a man less than a man, and in fact not even as balanced as a sheep, either standing up

or sitting down. The American pornographic industry, we are told, is even bigger business than the film industry, and the suffering and depravity caused (like our road toll) can only be called criminal. Profit is the motive, not benefit to the public. Such exploitation is not human, honest, or in any way adding to human dignity, integrity or growth into God’s likeness.—Yours, etc., NEVILLE M. RUSH. Director, Integrity Campaign. December 18, 1978.
