Drinking driver campaign
Sir, • — I disagree with C. W. Bromley, (December 14). The advertising referred to’ is excellent, both in copy and pictorially. First, because it really hits home to the drinking driver, and this is its intention. We can never be too severe with the driver who drinks excessively and is likely to maim innocent people. Second, it makes the “moderate” drinker think. So often “I’m a three-drink only person” finishes up an evening’s function by being a six, or more glass drinker. To the Ministry of Transport officers I say, “keep up the good work,” and to the true “moderate” drinker I say “keep it that way” and you will have nothing to fear from the present campaign. — Yours, etc., T. M. ARMSTRONG. December 15, 1978.
