Strong finish for easy win
Biddy Magee showed formidable finishing powers to triumph in the Parsons Memorial High-weight at Rangiora yesterday.
Messrs B. J. and J. E. Beattie’s six-year-old Aristoi ,mare was back in the back ,600 m out, but burst through gaps in the straight and won [running away by two lengths from the favourite, Wakanui, which had been given every chance in a trailing position. Biddy Magee was well ridden by Perry Thomas for this, her first win this season. She was off line near the end. and brushed against Wakanui, but this did not have a bearing on the re-[ suit. . Panic was a length back, third, fading after being; bustled out to a long lead) going to the 600 m. Cairnbrae was the best of* *the others just ahead of) l Regal End. i
