Sharing Australia's natural wealth
Sir, — As an Australian now happily and permanently living in Christ* church I occasionally envy the continuing new finds of Oil, coal, diamonds and other minerals in my old country. The Australian Constitution Act has provision for the colonies of New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, etc., to be admitted into, or established by, the _ Commonwealth as states. If we could become two states of the North and South Islands, we should gain independence from Auckland and share Australia’s wealth. —Yours, etc., ROBIN FRASER. October 18, 1978.
