The economy
Sir, — N. R. Mason’s criticism of the pamphlet "The Amazing Doctor Muldoon.” prompted me to read it and I hope many others will do the same. It gives a simple analysis of our sick economy ’ after three years of a Labour Government and the remedies being applied to correct it. A large Budget deficit in conjunction with Export Year is another remedial treatment aimed at
reducing our overseas deficit and the side effect of unemployment. Among his newspaper clippings your correspondent should have one announcing the appointment of our Prime Minister as chairman of the I.M.F. — an. honour for New Zealand and a recognition of Mr Muldoon’s financial, capabilities. —Yours, etc., J ,F. GARVEY. October 18, 1978.
