Home aids for family crises

Sir, — I was very interested in a recent letter (October 14) concerning the need ' for subsidised home aids in the community to help families in times of stress or illness, or to give relief to those looking after elderly dependants. Such a service is available ter any residents of the Southern Ellesmere District. The Ellesmere District Nursing Association (E.D.N.A.), a branch of the Nurse Maude Association provides both district nurses and home aids to help families in these situations. This service is subsri dised by the North Canterbury Hospital Board, or in some cases by the Social Welfare Department. Anyone Jiving in the area bounded by the Rakaia and Selwyn rivers and as far west as Ardlui Road, who needs such help should contact Mrs J. McLean, Southbridge 586, Mrs P. Bell, Dunsandel 47M, or Irwell 623. — Yours, etc., (Mrs) G. E. RENNIE, Chairman, Ellesmere District Nursing Association. October 16, 1978.
