Oil rig moved
PA Dunedin The giant Penrod 74 oil rig was towed to its site off the Taieri River mouth, south of Duneain, yesterday. Helped by near-perfect weather, the rig was towed the 100 miles from its previous site off Stewart Island after having been delayed some days in abandoning the plugged hole because of a high swell.
It will be some days before drilling can begin on the new site. Eight special anchors have to be laid first.
