A Marshland farmer, dr R. A. Burnip, went dog ’hooting last night. He ! ikes dogs but he does not 'lke the way one savaged nd killed some of his heep (pictured). Mr Burnip lost several of ’is flock in bad weather ast lambing season on some land he has at Oxford. This year he decided to move them to his more sheltered 4ha property in Winters Road. The dog struck on Monday night, killing seven lambs valued at $12.50 each, drowning a ewe, and leaving four sheep so badly maimed that they had to be destroyed. “I eould tell it was a big dog by the teeth marks and the tracks,” said Mr Burnip. “Now that it has tasted blood it will be back . . . and I’ll be waiting for it.”
