N.Z. MARKET WEAKER
The New Zealand sharemarket weakened in prospect of tighter monetary conditions. Many of the leaders were a cent lower, including finance houses, retailers, and the building group. A. B. Consolidated recovered 2c, in busier trading, and Allied Farmer, Auckland Gas, and H. Pollard continued to rise. The day’s turnover was assisted by a special sale of T. J. Edmonds at 320 c, 25c below the market price.
