Canadians win hockey, 7-1

PA Wellington The Canadian women’s hockey team bounced back from its test defeat by New Zealand at the week-end to beat Wellington. 7-1, at Alex Moore Park yesterday.

The tourists described the surface as the best they had played on in New Zealand and they made good use of the firm conditions to chalk up a five-goal lead at the interval. The star of the Canadian side was the centre-forward, Sandy Tufnail, who scored five goals. Canada’s other scorers were Margaret Dalgarno and Sally Manning. Lucy Wright replied for Wellington.
