More student beds
The Holy Name Seminary] In Riccarton Road has now] become a resident hostel for; tertiary students. It has been renamed: Campion Hall as a tribute to! the Jesuit priests who have: staffed the seminary since; its inception in 1947. Campion Hall, set in seven hectares of land, is a 10 minutes walk from the University of Canterbury. As well as having single-1 room accommodation for 96 students, the complex in- 1
eludes a number of lecture rooms and other facilities suitable for a conference venue. Students for the diocesan] priesthood will now train at] the Holy Cross College, at . Mosgiel, south of Dunedin. The decision to amalgmate the two seminaries was made by' the New Zealand Roman Catholic Bishops last year. The Roman Catholic] Church now contributes 230] beds for student accommodation in Christchurch.
