Limitation on students
Sir, — It seems curious to me that a white South African Rotary exchange student is encouraged to talk about his country, and this is labelled non-political, while a black South African university student is forbidden to talk about his country because this is labelled political. The word political, like dissident, is clearly an infinitely variable and useful word in New Zealand today, — Yours, etc., RICHARD COTTRELL. August 11, 1978.
