One young Christchurch man will have few material things to remind him of his twenty-first birthday. He returned from a holiday yesterday to find that his home in Hillary Crescent, Upper Riccarton, had been burgled, and all his birthday presents stolen. The presents were worth more than $2OO. Christchurch detectives are also investigating a big theft from a house in New Brighton Road. Thieves forced a door of
the house while the occupants were out and stole jewellery and cash to the value of $llOO from a bedroom. Several hundred dollars worth of transistor radios were taken in a smash-and-grab raid on the premises of Sedley Wells, Ltd, in Seaview Road, New Brighton, early yesterday morning. The Christchurch C. 1.8. is still investigating all three burglaries. No arrests had been made by last evening.
