Human rights
Sir, — We are shocked by he Russian sentences imposed upon those seeking to -xercise basic human rights. Vhile looking at Russian 'iolation of human rights ve need to look at New Zealand’s political and social opression imposed upon hose exercising their own aasic human rights — the ocial security sentence of a withdrawal of benefits if •exual freedom is not restricted for solo parents. A political committee decided upon this policy which infringes basic human ri ■ ■■ and there are those ».> knowingly enforce this. The pY>cv violates two human rights. The first is the politi-
cal right to social security, and the second is the human right of sexual freedom. — Yours, etc., KATHY KERR. July 13, 1978.
