Ducks still safe
Rumours that the duckshooting season had been extended beyond June 18 this year were not true, the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society was told last evening. The association’s secretary (Mr B. Webb) said that since early last week he had received about 100 telephone calls from agents selling licences and from licence-holders, asking if the season had been extended. Mr Webb said he did not know where such a rumour had started. Although the season had been extended to June 18. it had not been extended beyond that.
