Street marking

Sir, — Near the corner of Salisbury Street and Park Terrace, a small section of the road was paved after the yellow “no parking” line had been painted on the rest. The yellow line has not yet been completed. Every day several cars take advantage of this to park there, despite the “no stopping” signs. Bicycles and cars proceeding from Carlton Mill corner to Salisbury Street are consequently forced out towards the centre lane. This situation has existed for many weeks now. How long is it to be before the Ministry of Transport and the City Council correct this potentially dangerous situation? — Yours, etc., C. M. ANDERSON. June 13, 1978.

[The City Engineer, Mr P. G. Scoular, replies: “A continuation of wet weather and cars parked on the site delayed the contractor from remarking the street earlier. It has now been done.”]
