Overseas borrowing
Sir, — Your leading article, “Irresponsible borrowing” (June 20), is both timely and enlightening, in that it brings to the attention of the public the condi« tion and direction of our economy in these difficult times. The Public Debt is growing at too fast a rate and you are right in insisting that overseas funds at this stage should be used mainly to boost production. Only in this way can we bring our economy back to health. This is Social Credit’s avowed policy and Mr Beetham has already emphasised that increased production and control of inflation
are first priority if we are to cure our economic ills and I am sure they would be first to applaud your article. — Yours, etc.,
