First 'Ready-to-Run’ thoroughbred sale

Dalgety Bloodstock will introduce a thoroughbred sale with a difference in Hamilton later this year. This fixture, the first of its kind in th? Southern Hemisphere, will be known as the “Ready-to-Run” sale and will cater for buyers seeking two and three-year-olds which already have raced or have, at least, been

in training for 10 weeks before the sale. It is felt that this innovation, which has proved successful in the United States for two decades now, will have special appeal to both local and overseas buyers hoping for a quicker return. It should be particularly pleasing to some Australian trainers who have found that the buying of yearlings

at our sale* sometimes has its practical disadvantages. The Australian trainei usually gives his New Zea land importation plenty of time and as a general rule does not give them a serious campaign as two-year-olds if he holds them in any regarc at all.
