Social Welfare
Sir, — I feel sorry for the hard-working and honest couples who are struggling to get homes together to rear their families, and who are taxed to provide homes and incomes for solo mothers. They are the people who need our sympathy not the solo mothers. Solo mothers are feather-bedded. Solo mothers are being kept by their fellow New Zealanders. — Yours, etc., ELFREDA HART. May 18, 1978.
