Mhor is no more
Mhoi , a 21-year-old son of Khorassan, died this week at the Yaidhurst property of Mr D. J. O’Connor.
He won seven races for the late Miss J- E. and Mr 1.. W. Storry. The index to the 1960-61’ New Zealand Turf Register did him a disservice by describing him as a gelding. But Mr O’Connor, who prepared Mhor for his racing, had him at service for several seasons, and i with limited opportunities I the sturdy bay sired I Mhorlight, winner this season of the James Hazlett i Stakes. He was also successfully represented by Glenmhor and Mhortimer.
Mhor’s dam, Auchenlee. was a third generation descendant of Limelight, which [was also the fourth dam of the brilliant Cummingstrained stayer, Galilee, winner of the Caulfield, Melbourne, and Sydney Cups in one season.
