Lilley upsets Pakistani in squash
NZPA staff correspondent London The New Zealand squash professional, Murray Lilley, caused a major upset in a tournament in Stockton-on-Tees last night when he eliminated the top Pakistani, Torsam Khan, in a five-game battle.
Lilley, who turned professional earlier this year, beat Khan — ranked tenth in the world — 4-9, 9-7, 9-7, 3-9, 9-7, in a match lasting well over 90 minutes. The win puts the unseeded Lilley into the semi-finals of the Stockton tournament, along with fellow-New Zealander Bruce Brownlee ranked number five for this contest and eleventh in the world.
