Noise from aircraft
Sir, — I must support G. A. Leicester in the complaint of noise from R.N.Z.A.F. planes from Wigram. Although the nuisance has been less so far this year, I keep wondering when we will have to endure the days of endless circlings overhead, which, were all too many last year. Schools must find the noise very frustrating. Any new school built in Oaklands would need to incorporate substantial sound-proofing to permit teaching at all. It is high time Wigram was moved, as suburban devel-
cpment, wrongly allowed in the first place, has now engulfed it. Home buyers do not have the degree of choice the R.N.Z.A.F. would like to believe. The sale of the land would surely finance its resiting. Plans should begin immediately for this. — Yours, etc.,
(Mrs) LEITH E. HOLLAND. April 6, 1978.
