Trout farming

Sir.—May I bring two recent letters about trout farming into perspective, particularly one in “The Press” last Monday from Mr O. S. Hintz. Your reporter, Bob McCormick, did not approach me on the direct subject of trout farming. He had responsible information about moves within the National Party concerning visits to my trout farm. He approached the subject objectively and I was not prepared to deny his information. It w'as correct. 1.. s report was based on moves to re-examine political anomalies over trout farming. He did not say, as suggested by Mr Hintz, that “the Prime Minister gave a categorical assurance.” He correctly referred to a letter by Mr Muldoon as “Leader of the Opposition” advising an intention. Some people within the National Party

may not agree with Mr Muldoon’s letter and will want to take another look at trout farming. This, surely, is their right and shows responsible government.—Yours, NEIL ISAAC. April 5, 1978. ,
