Advertising the buses
Sir, — When it comes to advertising the buses many people seem to be under the same wrong impression as Jack Urlwin. As yet no decision has been made to spend any money on advertising the buses during the coming year. In making the preliminary estimates a provision of $50,000 has been made for marketing which may, or may not, be spent. The responsibility of preparing the marketing recommendations is in the hands of a special committee which is examining the whole question, including the experience of the current advertising programme. Only when this is done will any money be spent and in no way is the board’s thinking on marketing limited to advertising. At this stage all that can be definitely said is that the board intends to continue to explore and test ways of promoting and mar» keting the service. — Yours, etc.,
M. O. HOLDSWORTH, Chairman, Christchurch Transport Board. March 6, 1978.
