Conciliation meeting
The South Island concilia tor (Mr L. Fortune) was the I chairman at a conference of I the parties to the dispute at C. W. F. Hamilton, Ltd, of Christchurch yesterday. The dispute is about a claim by the Boilermakers’ Union for the right for workers to receive six weeks - notice of redundancy. The j claim has been rejected by the company and the union has banned the loading out of equipment destined for the Huntly power station. Mr Fortune said last evening that he had made some i suggestions and asked the parties to consider them. He hoped the dispute could be resolved.
