Wage index up 11.9 p.c.
PA Wellington Movement in adult male wage and salary rates was 11.9 per cent higher at the end of December last year! than it was at the same time in 1976, the Government Statistician (Mr E. A.| Harris) said. The 11.9 per cent rise ini the nominal weekly wage rates index during the latest | December year compares I with 14.5 per cent for the' year ended December 1976,i and 10 per cent for the year ended December 1975. The index was 1409 at December 31 last year, compared with 1259 at December 31, 1976 (on December, 1974, base of 1000).
