Conversion charges

Two boys aged 14 and 15, have admitted to the police that they have converted 15 cars in Christchurch .in the last fortnight. The two boys were caught by Ministry of Transport officers in Bordesley Street, Linwood, after a car chase through Linwood about 8 a.m. yesterday. The way in which the car was being driven caught the officers attention. The converted car mounted the pavement in Bordesley Street and came to rest against a fence.

The youths will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court today, charged with unlawfully taking motor vehicles. All but one of the converted cars has been recovered.
