Draughts at park
Draughts, and the various skills and techniques the game involves are the subject of a special tutoring and tournament week for children at Queen Elizabeth Il Park this week. The programme is held in the restaurant at the park between 1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. each day this week. It is run by members of the Canterbury Draughts Association. Demonstration •tames will be plaxed by Mr lack Dowey a player with mans wars experience. Mr Paul McOscar. a recreation officer at the park, said a number of parents had come along and enjoyed the programme. Mr McOskar said that so far children aged between eight and 11 vears had attended.
