Expensive loss
The Lyttelton police are still investigating the theft of a seaman’s wallet containing $720 , The seaman, from the bulk carrier Nordkyn, lost his wallet while drinking in the British Hotel about a fortnight ago. The money was in both New Zealand and foreign currencies. The police are also investigating the theft of $340 from an unlocked drawer in the office of Lyttelton Timber and Hardware. Ltd. The burglars entered through a rear window some time on Monday , night.
