Final opportunity
The last of the qualifying rounds in the present series of “Of portunity Knocks” will screen tonight from South Pacific Television.
From next week, after he fourth-quarter final, he 12 acts for the two emi-finals will be seeded. Only six will go hrough to the grand final t the end of this month. The host, Robin Stewart, will announce the winner of heat 15 and introduce the five acts appearing for the first time on the show. They are: Janette Riley: Well known in Christchurch as one of the two singing Arnold Sisters. The Sonnet: Joan Hansen, her brother Murray Lewis, her son, Peter Hansen, and a friend. Peter Scott, make up this singing quartet from Dunedin. Social Workers Ballet: A group of Christchurch doctors, psychiatrists, and social workers with a male comedy ballet act, as performed with supreme
grace and distinction on Telethon. The Aurelian Singers: A vocal quartet — Peter Williams, John Harker. Malcolm Anderson and
Howard Harvey — who are all well known in Christchurch as soloists. Sonia and Skec. A sing i n g duo from Christchurch.
