Dixon will start
Rod Dixon, Who has been included in the Canterbury senior men’s team to compete tn the national cross country championships at Napier on August 13 is a confirmed starter.
Dixon has been off work with a virus infection but told the Canterbury senior selector (Mr Don Greig, snr) yesterday that he was ready and able to run. Canterbury is the titleholder in both the men’s and junior men’s events, and is expected to retain the titles. When the team was first announced Dixon was a notable omission. He was left out because the selectors did not know he was available, and he had not run in the Canterbury championships. But when Dixon found out he said that he would try and run in the championships as an individual. Then he was included in the Canterbury team when others withdrew.
