Retailers withhold view
More than 150 Christchurch retailers attended a meeting called by the Can-terbury-Westland Retailers’ Association last evening to discuss the possible strike by shop assistants. No statement about the discussions was issued after the meeting. The secretary of the association (Mr N. M. West) said that he did not wish to release anything “half baked.” A statement on the meeting would be issued to the news media this morning, he said.
