No change of trainer

PA Auckland! The owner of BalmerinoJ Mr R. K. Stuart, has denied; a suggestion made at the; week-end that his horse; would have a change of trainer when in Europe. Mr Stuart said he was still the owner of Balmerino and he had “absolutely no thought” of anyone but Brian Smith training the horse in the United States, France, or anywhere else. To overcome difficulties which could arise because of language and other problems an English or French trainer could perhaps be engaged in France, said Mr Stuart, but only to work in conjunction with Smith as an assistant. Mr Stuart who flew with his wife to Los Angeles last night said that while it was true a New Zealand bloodstock firm had helped with

! expenses for Balmerino’s present overseas campaign it should be remembered that i the Hollywood Park Turf Club was also contributing — to the extent of $6OOO.
