Grand Prix to Surround
NZPA Brisbane. The Melbourne filly. Surround, regained her ranking as Australia’s top three-year-old with an effortless win in the Grand Prix Stakes i22oom> at Eagle Farm on Saturday. Tlie expected clash between Surround and the Tommy Smith trained three-year-old. Sir Serene, was virtually a non-event as the filly dashed past the Sydney colt at the 300 m with apparent ease. Sir Serene weakened badly over the closing stages to finish sixth while Surround cleared out to beat tlie Brisbane three-year-old, Miner’s Inn. and the Bart Cummings trained Ming Dynasty.
