Decision on site deferred
A decision on the proposed Rolleston Community Centre has been deferred until the future development of Rolleston becomes clear, it was decided at a meeting of the Rclleston Residents’ Association.
The proposed site for the community centre is on county reserve land on the northern outskirts of Rolleston. The Residents’ Association was concerned that, should the development of Rolleston be southwards, the community centre would not be in a central position, a committee member of the association (Mr W. Crawford) said after the meeting. The Ellesmere County Council has made submissions to the Government on the proposed development of the township but until word comes from Wellington, expected within the next few months, the council cannot advise the association about where the community centre should be sited.
