Bicycle Week
Today. Commuters anti-smog day. Everyone to cycle, walk or take a bus to work, school or the shops. 12 noon to 2 p.m. Meeting i n Cathedral Square. Speeches by the Mayor and the Labour and Values mayoral candidates. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Displays and competitions in Cathedral Square. The police will display stolen and unclaimed bicycles and officers of the Ministry of Transport will give safety demonstration^.
Saturday, February 26. Cycle for fun day. 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. “City to surf” cycle tour. Meet at the Armagh Street gates to Hagley Park. Bring your lunch to eat at Rawhiti Domain.
10 a.m. Cycling skill competitions and games for young people at the Riccarton Racecourse car park. 11 a.m. Cycling games and. competitions for young people at Rawhiti Domain, behind the golf club rooms.
