Bishops sentence reduced

An Appeal Court has reduced a 10-vear prison sentence on Bishop Donal Lamont to an effective one year i in iail fo raiding black guerrillas. With remission, the Irish-i, born Roman Catholic bishop, i who is 65, will probably serveonlv eight months. The sentence was reduced to four years, of which three 1 are suspended on condition the bishop is not charged un-‘ der the Law and Order Main- i tenance Act during .the next five years. Bishop Lamont said he was pleased with the result. “After all, I now do not[ have to go to prison for 10 years,” he told reporters.
