Vice Regal improving
Special con es. Cambridge ! Vice Regal, the leading threeyea! old of spring racing, is likely to resume racing in the i 1200 m Harp of Erin Handicap at Ellerslie on March 5. according to his trainer and part-owner, Mr J. W. Campin. of Cambridge.! This is provided that a “weepy! eye. ’ which troubled Vice Regal recently, continues to improve as it has done over the last week. Mr Campin said: “It was an irritation and we have kept al hood on him in daylight hours.' but he has missed no work. He is eating his head off and I am very happy with the way he looks. ' But we won’t really know if j he will come back until we get down to the business of racing.” No plans will be formed for Vite Regal until it is seen how he tomes through the race. But Mr Campin said that th e good opportunities over 1600 m at the Tauranga and Ellerslie autumn meetings would be considered if all went well. The‘filly. Top Of The Pops is being freshened. Mr Campin said, “she has had a few hard races close together after a long absence.”
Top of the Pops will resume training shortly and will be prepared for three-year-old autumn racing.
