Kenya threat to withdraw
PA Wellington. Kenya has advised the International Table Tennis Federation that It will not compete in the Commonwealth and world table tennis championships if New Zealand teams take part. This Information has been forwarded to the New Zealand Table Tennis Association by the Internationa) Table Tennis Federation In England. Last Saturday Mr Abraham Ordla, speaking on behalf of the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa said an African boycott of the Commonwealth and world championships was being considered. Yesterday the chairman of the N.Z.T.T.A. (Mr A. R. Harding, said his association has advised the international body "that m no circumstances will the N.Z T.T.A. consider withdrawing from the Commonwealth and world championships.” Cricket.—The former England test bowler, Johnny Warr, has withdrawn from the party to visit Australia for the centenar cricket test from March 12 to 17 because of business resso.-.s.
