Men saved from sea
PA Masterton A sea search was launched at Castlepoint late yesterday morning after an empty dinghy was seen floating out from the bay.
The Whakataki Hotel proprietor, Mr Cliff Goss, who was preparing for a fishing trip, saw the dinghy and called members of the z Worser Bay Surf Life-Saving Club, from Wellington, who are staying at the Castlepoint Motor Camp. Mr Goss retrieved the dinghy and a short time later two men were found safely on the rocks near the lighthouse point. Apparently they ■ had jumped from the dinghy after one of the oars broke, and feared drifting out to sea.
