Carols by candlelight

The Christchurch Young Men’s Christian Association will continue a 29-year-old tradition when it holds its “Carols by Candlelight” festival on Christmas Eve.

The gathering will again be on the banks of the River Avon near the Hereford Street Bridge, from 9 p.m, to 10 p.m. The festival is an opportunity for people to gather (after the shops have closed and sing Christmas carols. Singing will be conducted by Mr S. Simpson and music will be provided by the band of the Salvation Army Citadel.
